The Response Trifecta to Internal Negative Talk

A recent battle with the feeling of “being a disappointment” sent me into a stealth like cannonball dive into an ocean of self-deprecating internal speech. Once in the water, the waves kept pummeling me. As quick and intense as it was, as tumultuous as those waves got, I noticed I had the option to STOP the emotional waves breaking in my head. This shift in awareness is thanks to years of practicing mindfulness. It’s a constant inner workout of awareness of one's emotions, thoughts and feelings. After practicing mindfulness for a time, this shift to “awareness” becomes an automatic and unconscious action. It was also the first step into surfacing from the white water and existing in the space of calm so I could move forward. Here are the 3 processes I used.

Response process 1 — Mindfulness
The shift in understanding that I could look at these thoughts as just that...thoughts...is life altering. I was not them and they were not me. They were a story I was creating. I quickly imagined myself at the shore alongside a running river, I took these thoughts and words, placed them in large leaves and watched them drift down this river until they were out of sight, an exercise I teach in my mindfulness classes. I often add the sound you hear when you throw out a file into the garbage of a MAC computer. The leaves make that crunching sound as they close around the words and thoughts you placed in them. Grateful now for the PAUSE, I was then able to respond and proceed from a place of stillness.

Response process 2 — Automatic Writing – Connecting to Your Guides 
I decided then to check in with my team in spirit, my guides. And so, I wrote ALL the things that were bothering me. Asked ALL the questions I wanted to ask pertaining to my situation. I wrote down all the responses from my guides. This is called automatic writing. Sometimes the information comes in so quickly I can’t write fast enough. This is a process we can all do. The more you do it the stronger your connection to spirit opens up and the more you can benefit. (As always, I can help with this process of connecting you to your guides.) This always leaves me feeling balanced, clear and grounded.

Response process 3 — Translation®
I added a third exercise to round out this healing session. I used a  process called Translation® which I learned from the Prosperos School of Ontology. They describe this process as “Learn(ing) to see through what seems to be - limitation, anxiety, oppression - to Truth which lies waiting for your discovery. Not "the Truth" - there is no "the Truth" - but Truth: reality, wholeness, innate integrity. Your Ontological identity is ever-present, awaiting recognition.” It is a priceless tool that helps transmute falsity to conscious truth. These three processes, used individually or together, can help get you to a place of stillness where you can then become grounded, gain guidance and bring to light your truth as pure consciousness unfolding. They can lead to resolution in unexpected ways. For me, it showed up as an unexpected conversation that I was able to present my thoughts with ease and grace and resulted in positive conclusions that helped me move forward.

The Response Trifecta
Three tools for healing, guidance and conscious growth.

1. Mindfulness. This practice will build your ability to open up that space between reaction and response. Strengthening your ability to pause and become aware of your thoughts, feelings and emotions without judgment.
2. Automatic Writing — connection with your guides. You have a team around you that wants to support you! They will if you ask. This is a way to engage with them and find out answers or simply reset and ground yourself.
3. Translation®. As stated previously, ”...the fundamental resource required for shedding limitation, disorder, and confusion from your world: straight thinking in the abstract.” ​
